
Elon Musk will step down as Twitter CEO in six weeks, Musk announced today.
According to Elon Musk , he has hired a new CEO for Twitter and this person will start working in six weeks to take the most important position in the company.
“My role will shift to executive chairman & CTO, overseeing products, software & systems,” Musk said in a recent tweet.
Last November, Musk said he would reduce his time at Twitter and eventually find a new leader to run the social media company. Now, he announced that he had found a replacement for his position.
Since acquiring Twitter last year, Musk has changed the operating system within the company, as well as reallocating staff.
The reason behind Musk’s decision to leave the post of Twitter CEO is likely that he wants to focus on development again for Tesla. The identity of the new Twitter CEO has also been shared.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the new CEO of Twitter could be Linda Yaccarino, she is NBCUniversal’s president of global advertising and partnerships.

Currently, Musk and Twitter have not confirmed the identity of the new CEO.
