Police have recovered 300 Bitcoin (BTC) mining rigs stolen from a farm in Paraguay, following a massive operation conducted by the National Anti-Kidnapping Department (DAS).
According to Brazilian media outlet Portalo do Bitcoin , the operation was carried out following a burglary in Paraguay’s Alto Paraná province in April.
Police at the time explained that 492 BTC miners were stolen from a farm.
The DAS explained that they raided a facility in the town of Presidente Franco this month.
They said they had recovered 300 mining rigs along with mobile devices, guns and ammunition.
Police said the theft was carefully staged as “about a dozen” hooded individuals attacked the Alto Paraná farm before escaping using mining rigs.
Officials explained that all 300 rigs are “operating at full capacity”.
DAS immediately proceeded to disconnect and confiscate the mining rigs.
