Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty shared some of his predictions about the cryptocurrency market on his X account.
As we near the end of the year, a Ripple leader shared his prediction for the crypto world in 2024.
Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty has laid out three ambitious views on US cryptocurrency policy and regulation in the coming year.
The SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple is over
Alderoty predicts that in 2024, the last remnants of the SEC’s tort lawsuit against Ripple will be resolved. However, he warned that the regulatory campaign through SEC enforcement will continue against other industry leaders.
Judges are the last line of defense against SEC abuses
Alderoty also predicted that the judges will continue to serve as the last line of defense against SEC overreach.
As the SEC continues to lose key court cases, Alderoty said this could set the stage for a showdown at the Supreme Court.
Congressional Deadlock on Cryptocurrency Regulation
Ultimately, Alderoty predicts that Congress will agree in principle on cryptocurrency regulation, but disagreements will leave US crypto companies in limbo. At the same time, he hopes the rest of the world will take significant positive steps in this area.
